Date: Sunday, October 18 Time: 3:30 pm Duration: 2 hrs Venue: Community Room @ EPL, Stanley A Milner Library Tickets: $20 This workshop has a capacity of 12 participants. Explore the zuihitsu form with Catherine Owen! The zuihitsu is a way of writing about one central theme from different genre-based perspectives, first developed by Sei Shonagon in her Pillow Book from 10th century Japan. Over the course of two hours, we will focus on the theme of home and see what emerges in three genres: a North American ghazal, a one question interview and a haibun or diary entry. As with a Matryoshka doll, the central preoccupation of a zuihitsu is revealed via multiple genres that exist within it.

Please note - attendees will be expected to bring their own writing materials
