It is a preventative, holistic, community-based program that helps families re-learn healthy living together. Each week consists of a ~1-hour cooking class with a registered dietitian followed by a ~ 45-minute mental health, social connection, nutrition or physical activity workshop. For Fall 2026, we are continuing our partnership with the Edmonton Public Library. It is open to the public and family can include parents, grandparents, caregivers etc. Each session is limited to 7-12 families (depending on the recipe) and a $15 fee/station is required for registration. Each station can have a maximum of 2 adults + 2 children or 2-3 adults. This session is supported by the Northern Alberta Clinical Family Medicine Fund and will be co-facilitated by the CHCP team, Dr. Chris Koo (Chef and Family Physician) and medical students from the University of Alberta. In Session 3, we will make 2 recipes together: Cheesy Beef and Vegetable Macaroni & Baked Apples. All tickets are non-refundable. If this registration link is closed, the class is full. Please email chcp@ualberta.ca if you have questions.
